Search and rescue operation in Hlukhiv completed: 12 killed, 11 injured

Law enforcement officers have completed a search and rescue operation after a Russian strike on a temporary accommodation facility in the town of Hlukhiv, Sumy Oblast, that occurred on the late evening of 18 November, which killed 12 people and injured 11.

Details: It was noted that 12 people were currently known to have been killed, including a boy who would have turned 8 years old soon. A total of 11 people sustained injuries, including children aged 13 and 14.

The police also added that mobile points were deployed for work with the victims. Work is underway to collect statements, interrogate people and provide psychological assistance.

Background:

• It was reported earlier that an explosion occurred in Hlukhiv, Sumy Oblast, late on 18 November. The media reported that a Russian drone had hit an apartment block, resulting in casualties. It was also reported that there might be people under the rubble.
• On 19 November, the Sumy Oblast Prosecutor's Office reported that 12 people, including a child, were killed in the Russian attack on Hlukhiv.
