The Russian Ministry of Defence has lied in reporting the first attack by long-range ATACMS missiles on Russian territory on the night of 18-19 November.

Source: Reuters reports, citing a US source, as reported by European Pravda

Details: The Reuters source said that Ukraine had fired eight ATACMS missiles. Of these, he added, Russia was able to intercept two.

In contrast, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that five of the six missiles fired at the military facility in Bryansk Oblast were shot down, and that the wreckage hit the facility and caused a minor fire.

Ukrainian sources claimed that the ATACMS strike targeted the arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence in the city of Karachev, Bryansk Oblast.

US officials have yet to confirm whether Ukraine has been authorised to use US weapons against targets in Russia.
