Russia hopes war in Ukraine will become "second Vietnam" for US
Sergey Naryshkin, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia, has written an article in which he claims that Russia hopes to turn the war in Ukraine into a "second Vietnam" for the US.

Details: In his article, Naryshkin claims that due to the "inability to achieve military victory" over Russia, Western politicians will try to protract combat action and turn the Ukrainian conflict into the "second Afghanistan", hoping to exhaust Russia in the "fight of potentials".
At the same time, Naryshkin is convinced that further support for Ukraine "may accelerate the fall of the international authority of the West". Thus, the US, in his opinion, risks experiencing the "second Vietnam".
Judging from the article, the Kremlin is waiting for a "sensible politician" able to plug this "mouth".
Naryshkin also predicted further confrontation with the Western world, hinting that it would spread from post-Soviet territories to North America and the Pacific Ocean.
Background: In October 2023, Naryshkin claimed that the West was using Ukraine to counter Russia and was even training Ukrainian fighters to attack nuclear power facilities in Russia.
