"Today we are welcoming Ukrainian soldiers in Belgium as part of the EUMAM mission. They will undergo training on the underwater systems delivered by Belgium to Ukraine. I’ve expressed my profound support and saluted the courage shown for almost a year now," she said.

In November, the Belgian Defense Minister announced that her country would send to Ukraine the most modern equipment, including underwater drones.

At the end of January, the Belgian government approved the largest package of military assistance for Ukraine in the amount of 92 million euros. This tranche of military aid brings the total amount of Belgian military aid to 186 million euros, of which 44 million were allocated for fuel.

The European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) was officially established on 17 October and started its work in mid-November last year. The mission aims to train up to 30,000 Ukrainian servicemen in centres located in EU member states.
