101 Ukrainian servicewomen killed in war with Russia

On the Ukraine’s military front lines, a total of 101 (Ukrainian) servicewomen have been killed, 50 are considered missing, and 100 have been injured.

Three hundred and fifty women were honoured with state awards, and two received the title of Heroes of Ukraine posthumously. The two women are Inna Dereusova and Kateryna Stupytska.

In total, 59,786 women currently serve in the Ukrainian army, of whom 18,000 are civilian workers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 41,000 hold military positions and 5,000 are on the front line.

The minister also noted that 1,000 women voluntarily registered with military enlistment offices.

Reznikov said that a group within the Ministry of Defence that designs models of bulletproof vests for women is currently completing its work.

"Models of bulletproof vests are being tested, and Ukrainian manufacturers are ready to make them. We are ready to order and purchase them as soon as the testing is completed. The situation with women’s uniforms is the same. Remember the story of the parade in heels. So we want to check everything," said the minister.
