Zelenskyy says Ukraine will eventually build "parallel power grid" to ensure power supply
Ukraine has developed a plan for the construction of small modular reactors for generating electricity, but so far all resources are being used to protect and restore the existing energy system.

Details: Ukraine and the US have agreed on the construction of small modular reactors that can be placed in hard-to-reach cities.
Zelenskyy explained that it is not about one modular reactor, experts have made a pilot version, but it cannot be promised that "this model will start working tomorrow".
Because now it is necessary to ensure that regardless of where the Russian missiles hit, the Ukrainian people have at least some power supply.
Quote: "The fact that Ukraine has developed an interesting alternative system of power supply, that we are on this path, that we, together with Ukrenergo [national power company - ed.] and the Ministry of Energy, understand exactly what we will do, as soon as we can raise our heads, we will do it. In the meantime, everyone from big government officials to middle managers is working to protect what we have and restore what we are being deprived of every day.
Maybe now it would be important for society to hear and be told about some new dream of building a power grid, but I won't talk about it.
We have two priorities today . There is a parallel grid that we have developed, and the information about how we will build it is definitely not for publicity. The No.1 priority is the daily protection of what we have. There is a reason that electricity is restored in places where we are deprived of it."
Details: Zelenskyy said that strikes on the energy infrastructure facilities are the most powerful weapon left in Russia.
In his opinion, Ukraine will definitely survive this winter and win the war.
The journalist noted that people are ready to endure and stock up for the winter, but information about the parallel power grid would inspire and comfort them.
Quote from Zelenskyy: "There is a parallel power grid that we are engaged in. We are building it, and it is very important for us. This is a priority... There are two priorities, and they are not consecutive. It does not mean that when we pass through this winter and when the spring comes and it gets warmer, we will be engaged in another, parallel world. We are thinking about these two things, they go in parallel."
