SSU detains "traitor" reconnoitring positions of Ukrainian Air Defence Forces

Military counter-intelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine has neutralised an attempt by the aggressor's to establish the location of the air defence systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the southern and eastern fronts.

Details: During a special operation in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a Russian agent was detained. He was reconnoitring the positions of Ukrainian S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems.

He had to transfer the coordinates obtained to his "handler" through closed communication channels worked out in advance.

According to one version, the occupiers planned to use this information to carry out missile strikes or sabotage in order to neutralise the air defence of Ukraine.

The SSU recalls that the air defence system in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast recently shot down 6 out of 7 missiles that the Russians tried to fire at the oblast.

It was established that the traitor was recruited by a representative of the special services of the Russian Federation to carry out reconnaissance and subversion against Ukraine.

During searches of the detainee's residence, law enforcement officers found mobile phones and computer equipment that he used to communicate with the aggressor.

SSU investigators informed the perpetrator that he was suspected under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law); Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives).

The man was taken into custody.
