Over 140 Russian munitions hit Sumy Oblast on 16 July

Russian forces fired at Sumy Oblast throughout the day on 16 July, using various types of weapons to fire over 140 munitions.

Details: Just after 09:00, Russian forces used multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) to fire at the Hlukhiv hromada [amalgamated territorial community - ed.]. Zhyvytskyi reports that 28 explosions took place there.

At 09:00, the Russians also used tube artillery to fire five rounds at the Esman hromada.

After 09:00, Russian forces opened fire on the Nova Sloboda hromada using MLRS, firing a total of 27 rockets and damaging civilian farms and buildings, and a power line.

At 09:30, Russian forces struck the Shalyhyne hromada.

Between 10:00 and 11:00, Russian forces fired another 15 rounds at the Esman hromada using tubed artillery.

At almost 13:00, the Russians targeted three villages in the Bilopillia hromada, firing almost 20 rounds using tubed artillery.

At 14:30, Russian troops hit the Shalyhyne hromada again, firing 22 rounds using tubed artillery.

At 17:30, the Russians used rocket artillery to fire 14 rockets on the Nova Sloboda hromada.

At 19:00 – and again at 21:00, Russian forces opened fire on the Khotin and Shalyhyne hromadas using small arms.

Russian forces also fired over 10 mortars on the Krasnopillia hromada at around 18:30.
