Quote: "Russians are continuing their futile search for weaknesses in the defence of Sievierodonetsk, all the while firing at peaceful neighbourhoods and industrial facilities in Luhansk Oblast.

At least four residents of the oblast were killed. One of them is a resident of Sievierodonetsk who sustained deadly wounds on 6 June. The enemy also took the lives of three residents of Lysychansk – a man and two women."

Details: A woman was killed, and her daughter wounded, in an artillery shelling of Lysychansk.

Over the course of the last two days, six residents of Lysychansk have suffered wounds with varying degrees of severity. Four of them were taken to an oblast clinical hospital in Dnipro (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast).

On the evening of 8 June, Russian troops twice targeted the territory of the Azot chemical plant in Sievierodonetsk, damaging two workshops located in different parts of the plant’s extensive territory. One of the damaged workshops was responsible for ammonia production. Haidai promised to report the effects of the Azot shelling in a separate update.

In addition, on 8 June the Russian army shelled Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Pryvillia, Orikhove, Ustynivka, Hirske, Katerynivka, Bilohorivka, Mykolaivka, Komyshuvakha, and Pavlohrad (just outside of Sievierodonetsk) with mortars, artillery, and multiple launch rocket systems.

Russian aircraft conducted an airstrike on Toshkivka and have made an unsuccessful attempt to storm the city. Ukrainian troops have also inflicted losses on the Russian occupation forces in the area around Katerynivka, where the Russians were forced to retreat.

Russian occupation forces also conducted missile and air strikes on Verkhniokamianka and Zolote. As a result of Russian shelling, 10 houses were damaged in Hirske, 8 in Orikhove, and 4 in Lysychansk.

Overall, over the course of the past 24 hours, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repulsed 7 Russian attacks and destroyed 3 Russian tanks, 2 armoured combat vehicles, and 4 vehicles. Ukrainian Air Defence Forces shot down 6 Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles.
