A 13-year-old boy killed by a Russian shell in Hirske; total of 262 children killed in the war

According to confirmed data, at least 262 children were killed and 467 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale Russian invasion.

Details: On 3 June, a 13-year-old boy sustained mortal life injuries as a result of a shell fired by the aggressors hitting a house in the town of Hirske in the Sievierodonetsk district of Luhansk Oblast.

During the recording of war crimes, it became known that two children were injured in the Volnovakha district of Donetsk Oblast.

In total, as of the morning of 5 June, 2022, at least 729 children have been injured in Ukraine as a result of full-scale armed aggression by the Russian Federation. These numbers are not final, as work is underway to establish the number in places of active hostility in the temporarily occupied and in the liberated territories [from Russian soldiers].

According to available data, the majority of the children affected were in the following oblasts: Donetsk - 189, Kyiv - 116, Kharkiv - 112, Chernihiv - 68, Luhansk - 53, Kherson - 52, Mykolaiv - 47, Zaporizhzhia - 29, Sumy - 17, Zhytomyr - 15. 16 children were injured in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
