A grenade exploded near the Russian commandant's office in the occupied city of Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Details: Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration also reports that the Russian invaders are afraid of night-time "partisan attacks" and are starting to learn the Ukrainian language. This became known from intercepted telephone conversations by the aggressors, who complained about attacks by Ukrainians in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

Background: 

In seized Melitopol, the Ukrainian resistance movement managed to blow up a Russian armoured train as it was transporting soldiers and equipment.

On the morning of 18 May, the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration confirmed that resistance fighters in Melitopol had killed high-ranking Russian commanders.

The Ukrainian resistance movement is also putting up pro-Ukrainian leaflets in public places in Melitopol.

In April the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian resistance fighters in Melitopol had killed about 70 servicemen in three weeks.
