Russian troops shelled border guards in Chernihiv region: threat of further shelling

As Ukrainian border guards resume control over the border between Ukraine and Russia, the threat of Russian shelling remains.

Details: Head of the State Border Service said that Russian troops at the Pohar checkpoint opened fire (including from grenade launchers) on the Ukrainian side (in the Chernihiv region).

There is also a danger that the nearby territory might be mined. Ukrainian troops will be extremely careful in the region.

Deineko also shared a video of the infrastructure destroyed by the Russian occupying forces at the Vilcha checkpoint in the Kyiv region on the border with Belarus, which recently returned to the control of Ukrainian border guards.

Background: On 11 April Andriy Demchenko, spokesman for the State Border Service of Ukraine noted that the process of restoring control over the state border was underway in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.
