Details: Arakhamiia reported that negotiations regarding Ukraine’s security guarantees continue online.

According to Arakhamiia: "The Ukrainian side is adhering to the Istanbul Communiqué and has not changed its position, despite statements by the Russian Foreign Minister.

The only difference is that we are not taking into consideration any additional questions that were not included in the Istanbul Communiqué. This might have caused an incorrect interpretation of the current state of the negotiating process."

Background: On 11 April, Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, said that he saw no reason to halt negotiations with Ukraine, even though Ukraine often changes its negotiating position.

On 12 April, President Vladimir Putin of Russia said that the negotiations with Ukraine had reached a stalemate again. Putin added that on 11 April he was allegedly told that "the Ukrainian side has somewhat altered their negotiating position" but that he did not know the details at that point.
