Almost 6,500 people arrived to Zaporizhya from Mariupol in one day - Irya Vereshchuk

6,426 people arrived in Zaporizhia from Mariupol on Wednesday, including 2,039 children.

Verbatim: "Our convoy with food and buses for evacuation was never let into Mariupol. We have organised a gathering of people who left the blockaded Mariupol to Berdyansk in a light of this situation."

"Now all 15 buses with Mariupol residents and children have arrived in Zaporizhya, where they got the necessary assistance. A total of 6,426 Mariupol residents arrived in Zaporizhya today, including 2,039 children."

"Columns of private transport are still moving towards Zaporizhya."

Details: Food and medicine supplies were left in Berdyansk, where the assistance units have been set up for all those who leave the besieged Mariupol, according to Vereshchuk.

"We are negotiating a cease-fire along the route tomorrow and shall continue to relocate people from Mariupol to Berdyansk and from Berdyansk to Zaporizhya. We also plan to organise corridors for the humanitarian goods supply to the blockaded settlements of Kharkiv and Kyiv regions," Iryna Vereshchuk  said.

Mariupol City Council also reports that about 11,000 people left Mariupol for Zaporizhia on Wednesday.
