NABU Arrests Official Suspected of Manipulating Rail Procurement

NABU detectives arrested the Head of the Department of Procurement Planning and Control of Ukrainian Railways (UZ), the press service of the Bureau reports.
The official allegedly participated in a corrupt scheme of embezzlement of the state’s money during procurement held by UZ affiliate state-owned Ukrzalizpostach [En: Ukrainian Railways Supplier]. Detectives and anti-corruption prosecutors will be asking the court to keep him detained as a pretrial restrictive measure, to prevent meddling in the pretrial investigation and the suspect from leaving Ukraine.
Pretrial investigation is underway. Three other suspects in this case were arrested in January.
