Extra US$144.23 million allocated for fortification of Kharkiv Oblast

An additional UAH 6 billion (approx. US$144.23 million) has been allocated to construct fortifications in Kharkiv Oblast.

Details: The state of progress is 99.9%. Almost 800 strong points have been built and equipped.

Quote from Shmyhal: "The Ministry of Defence has been instructed to ensure that all fortifications are equipped with drainage systems for normal drainage. The necessary changes have been made to the documentation, and the work has been completed."

Background: On 13 February 2024, it was reported that UAH 20 billion (approx. US$480.77 million) had been allocated from the state budget reserve fund for fortifications. Additional resources from other funding sources amounted to another UAH 10.7 billion (US$257.21 million).
