Russia has struck Ukraine's energy facilities over 1,000 times – Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that Russian forces had struck Ukrainian energy facilities more than 1,000 times since the full-scale invasion.

Quote: "In total, the Russian army has already attacked Ukrainian energy facilities more than 1,000 times. There were 900 targeted Russian attacks against electricity transmission facilities and more than 220 targeted Russian attacks against our generation facilities."

Details: Zelenskyy specified that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has occupied about 18 GW of power capacity in Ukraine.

Background: Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy sector on 17 November, severely damaging equipment at thermal power plants belonging to DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy company.
