Ukrainian judoka Bilodid loses to two-time world champion at 2024 Olympics due to disqualification

Ukrainian judoka Daria Bilodid has competed in her second bout at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Details: In the last 16 of the women's 57kg weight category, Bilodid competed against multiple world champion Haruka Funakubo of Japan.

The match extended into extra time, where Daria was disqualified after receiving her third shido [The shido is called when a rule violation occurs during a judo contest – ed.].

As a result, Bilodid, the Ukrainian bronze medallist from the 2020 Olympics, was knocked out of medal contention at the Paris Games.

Background: Bilodid defeated 15-year-old Kiribati representative Neri Tibwa in 5 seconds with an ippon throw in the round of 32.
