Japanese épée fencer coached by Ukrainian wins gold at 2024 Olympic Games

Japanese fencer Koki Kano has won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in individual épée.

Details: Kano proved to be stronger in the final than French fencer Yannick Borel. The match ended with a score of 15-9.

It is worth noting that Koki is coached by Ukrainian specialist Oleksandr Gorbachuk, who is the 2001 European team épée champion.

Olha Kharlan's boyfriend, Luigi Samele, won bronze in the individual sabre at the 2024 Olympics.

Fencing competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games will take place at the Grand Palais in Paris from 27 July to 4 August 2024. A total of 12 sets of awards in fencing are up for grabs at the 2024 Olympic Games  6 for men and 6 for women.
