Russian forces used a cluster variation of an Iskander ballistic missile during an attack on an industrial facility in the city of Kharkiv on the afternoon of 24 July.

Quote: "These are missiles produced in 2024. At 05:00, a purely civilian facility was struck, then there were two strikes on an industrial facility in Kharkiv; then, an hour later the same facility was struck with cluster munitions. We are certain that cluster munitions were used during the second attack in order to hit the emergency workers and police officers who arrived at the scene.

It’s a miracle that both the emergency workers and the police had left this facility 10 minutes before the second attack. However, the Russians struck with cluster munitions which spread over a large area, as a result of which people who were passing by the private industrial facility in the street, or were in the nearby residential area, were injured."

Background:

  • Russian troops attacked Kharkiv several times on 24 July. The latest attack took place in the late afternoon. The Russians dropped a guided bomb practically in the centre of the city.
  • As of 14:40, six people were reported injured in the city.
