Quote: "Today's missile strike on Kyiv differs from the enemy's numerous recent air attacks on the Ukrainian capital. The enemy did not strike in the dark, nor did they use combined or mass bombardment. No ballistic weapons or cruise missiles launched by strategic bombers.
The aggressor is exploring new strategies, looking for the best moment, methods, and means to attack Kyiv. Because the capital of Ukraine has always been and will continue to be a top priority for the invaders!"
Details: Popko emphasised that such an attack should serve as a reminder to Kyiv citizens that no air-raid alarm should be ignored.
"Missiles are shot down, but they do not break up into molecules, and debris is a threat to people's lives," he noted.
On 30 June, due to the Russian attack on Kyiv, a pre-trial investigation was launched in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438.1 of Ukraine's Criminal Code).
Background:
- A multi-storey building in Kyiv's Obolonskyi district was damaged by falling missile debris, resulting in a fire.
- Five of the victims sought medical attention, all of them were women suffering from acute stress. One elderly woman was hospitalised.
