Details: The Prosecutor's Office reported that a resident of Myrnohrad corresponded on Telegram with an FSB representative since the autumn of 2023, passing him information about facilities where Ukrainian military personnel were stationed that December.

Crucially, the spy, following the handler’s instructions, determined the location of the Armed Forces units in Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, and marked them on a map which he relayed to the FSB representative

The Security Service of Ukraine published part of the correspondence between the spy and his Russian handler. The Security Service of Ukraine stated that the main targets were the headquarters and key posts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Avdiivka. The Russians were also interested in possible routes for moving heavy weapons towards the front line.

The agent’s special assignment reportedly focused on HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems, Leopard tanks and Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. In order to carry out strikes on the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian agent had to identify their locations and pass on the coordinates.

As a result of the special operation, the man was detained in his own home. His phone, which he used to take photos and correspond with the FSB, was seized.

The Prosecutor's Office reported that he was served with a notice of suspicion of high treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He is therefore remanded in custody without bail.
