Details: It is reported that the Russians continue imposing passportization by all means available to them in temporarily occupied territories. It means that a person is able to receive social assistance only if they have a Russian passport, whereas all payments from Ukraine are blocked. In addition, if a person does not obtain a Russian passport, it creates additional issues at Russian checkpoints.

"However, even in such conditions, residents [of Melitopol – ed.] do not hurry to get Russian passports. The main thing is to get in a digital queue and miss your timeslot, which will force you to make an appointment again, and then you repeat the cycle. It makes all checks at checkpoints easier, as you have a notification about your queue for the passport," the National Resistance Center said.

Background: The Russian occupying forces are coercing Ukrainian teachers who stayed to work in the seized part of Luhansk Oblast to obtain Russian passports.
