Air-raid siren sounds in several oblasts, air defence system deployed in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian occupiers launched another attack on the evening of 29 December, probably by drones, and air defence systems were operating in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Details: As of 23:48, an air-raid siren was sounded in Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

Yevtushenko said that air defence systems were operating in the oblast (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast) and called on people to send in information about "aero bombers" [Russian drones – ed.] to a certain bot on Telegram.

Residents of Zaporizhzhia oblast also reported the sounds of explosions on social networks.

So far, the military or government officials have not disclosed the details of the Russian attack. Specifically, whether it was the Iranian-made Shaheda drones which the Russians used for the night attack on 28 December.

The Russian invaders attacked Ukraine with missiles on the morning of 29 December. In total, Ukrainian air defences destroyed 54 missiles out of the 69 launched by Russian forces.

  • On 29 December, Russia launched a large-scale missile attack on Ukraine. The territory of Ukraine was attacked with Kh-101/Kh-555, Kalibr, Kh-22, and Kh-32 cruise missiles, as well as Kh-31P anti-radar missiles and Shahed-131/136 drones. In total, more than 11 drones and 69 cruise missiles were used to attack Ukraine. They were launched from Tu-95MS strategic bombers, Tu-22M3 aircraft and ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. In addition, missiles from an S-300 air defence system were used to attack the Ukrainian cities along the line of contact.
  • More than 18 residential buildings and 10 critical infrastructure facilities in 10 oblasts were damaged as a result of the missile attack.
