President's Office explains what it sees as first tasks on path to European integration
EUROPEAN PRAVDA — SATURDAY, 8 OCTOBER 2022, 19:17
In the Office of the President, the main task related to European integration is considered to be implementing, as soon as possible, the recommendations made to Ukraine when it received candidate status.
Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President and diplomatic adviser to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, mentioned this in an interview with European Pravda.
As he said, the seven recommendations made to Ukraine should be implemented "as soon as possible, preferably by the end of the year."
"To do so, everyone needs to step up their work, and the Verkhovna Rada [Ukrainian Parliament] must also raise the quality of its work. Nearly all parliamentary committees have now set up subcommittees on European integration, and these will be responsible for adapting the acquis communautaire. A Member of Parliament responsible for this work will be appointed in each committee. The Verkhovna Rada must also fully implement the Association Agreement. The government needs to significantly intensify its work, understanding that European integration is no longer a foreign policy matter," Ihor Zhovkva commented.
