Ukraine’s air defence shoots down Iskander cruise missile targeting Zaporizhzhia

Ukraine’s anti-aircraft defence forces have shot down a Russian Iskander-K missile, which was targeting the city of Zaporizhzhia.

Quote: "Another cruise missile launched by Russia has failed to reach its target."
Details: Operational Command Skhid (East) reported that a mobile MANPADS unit detected and fired at a Russian Iskander-K missile heading towards Zaporizhzhia on 29 October.
The missile changed course as a result of the Ukrainian strike and landed in an unpopulated area.
The Operational Command said that the MANPADS operator will be decorated for his timely and skillful work.
Background: On Saturday afternoon, the head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, Oleksandr Starukh, announced that Russian troops had again struck critical infrastructure targets in Zaporizhzhia.
Later, he clarified that, fortunately, there were no victims. As a result of the impact, an industrial building was destroyed.
