Russian-appointed "governor" Yevhen Balytskyi, who fled to Crimea, has appeared in Melitopol for one day before disappearing again, reported Ivan Fedorov, the mayor of Melitopol, on Tuesday.

Quote from Fedorov: "After leaving, he returned with an escort on 1 September, so that he showed himself, and then he disappeared again. Today, his stay in Melitopol has not been noticed.

He's been asking to be given an opportunity to rule remotely for a while. But as soon as it’s necessary, he will be brought back [to Melitopol] under escort and shown like a monkey on the beach. He’s not a decision maker."

Background: In late August, collaborator Yevhen Balytskyi, who fled Zaporizhzhia Oblast, reported that he was going to "lead" the region from the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea due to "family circumstances".
