Quote from Zelenskyy: "The Russian army is trying to deploy reserve troops in Donbas. But what reserves can they speak of right now?
It seems that they will throw poorly trained conscripts into the battle, as well as those who had been recruited via covert mobilisation efforts. Russian generals consider their people simply as cannon fodder, which they need to ensure they outnumber us – outnumber us in military personnel, in military equipment.
But this only adds up to one thing: Russian losses in June might exceed 40,000 military personnel. They have not lost as many soldiers in any of the wars in many decades."
Details: President Zelenskyy explained that the most fierce battles are currently fought in Sievierodonetsk. According to the president, Ukrainian Defence Forces are fighting for every inch of Ukrainian land.
Russian occupation forces are also advancing on Lysychansk, Bakhmut, and Sloviansk.
Background:
- General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has informed Mark Milley, Chief of the Joint Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces and a general in the US Army, that Russian occupation forces have focused their efforts in the north of Luhansk Oblast.
Luhansk Oblast Military Administration has reported that Russian forces have been relentlessly firing on Lysychansk and Sievierodonetsk over the course of Sunday, 12 June. A six year-old child was killed as a result of Russian shelling. Russian forces are trying to press past the Ukrainian defence line by exerting fierce artillery fire.
