Civilian losses: Russia claims lives of 2 more children; 223 children killed since 24 February

The number of children killed in Russia’s war against Ukraine has reached 223: a 15-year-old volunteer was killed on 5 May at the Feldman Ecopark, Kharkiv Region, and a 17-year-old boy was found dead in the village of Novoselivka, Donetsk Region – he was killed on 23 April.

Details: At least 631 children have become casualties of Russian military aggression in Ukraine: 223 children were killed, 408 wounded. These numbers are not definitive, as the search for the dead and wounded continues in areas of active hostilities and on the temporarily occupied and the liberated territories of Ukraine.

On 5 May, a 15-year-old boy, a volunteer who helped feed and evacuate animals at the Feldman Ecopark in the town of Lisne, Kharkiv District in Kharkiv Region, was killed in the Russian shelling of the park.

Also on 5 May, it became known that a 17-year-old boy was killed on 23 April in the Russian bombardment of the village of Novoselivka, Pokrovske District of Donetsk Region.

The greatest number of child casualty were in the following regions: Donetsk (139), Kyiv (116), Kharkiv (95), Chernihiv (68), Kherson (46), Mykolaiv (44), Luhansk (37), Zaporizhzhia (27), Sumy (17), and Zhytomyr (15). 16 more children were affected in the city of Kyiv.
