Quote from Orlov: "Negotiations are currently underway on the release and return home of fire-rescue squad chief Troian.
His colleagues appeal to the residents of Enerhodar to refrain from protesting today in support of firefighters and their chief. Such protests may have a negative impact on our efforts to find our employee, and may impede firefighters in performing their duties."
Background:
- On 18 May, the invaders arrived at the fire department of DPRCH-13 and conducted a raid on the office of Vitalii Troian, chief of the 1st State Fire and Rescue Detachment.
- They then sealed the office and forcibly took Troian to an unknown location.
- On 20 May, the fire department went on strike to protest his abduction.
