Russian troops were firing at the Azovstal plant in the besieged city of Mariupol throughout 9 May and continue to do so now.
Source: Advisor to the Mayor of Mariupol Petro Andriushchenko; Azov Regiment
Details: According to Andriushchenko, the fact that there are still civilians at the plant does not stop the invaders. Russian forces continue methodically bombing and shelling Ukrainians.
Quote: "Mariupol. Azovstal. In addition to the military, at least 100 civilians remain in shelters there. However, this does not lessen the density of the occupiers’ strikes.
Heavy artillery and aviation continued firing at the plant all day long. Attempts to storm on the ground continue to be unsuccessful. So the city hears the sound of the cannonade again."
Update: The Azov Regiment has clarified that over the past 24 hours, 34 sorties were made to the territory of the Azovstal plant, which is being defended by the defenders of Mariupol, including 8 strategic bomber flights.
