On the eve of Easter, Russian shops have begun selling "kulich" [Russian Easter bread] decorated with the Latin letter "Z". These are the signs painted on the military equipment of the Russian soldiers fighting against Ukraine.

Details: It is reported that "Z-kulich" are being sold in particular in the Kurgan region.
For reference: The Latin letters "Z" and "V", which have been painted on Russian military equipment since the beginning of Russia's invasion in Ukraine, have become almost official symbols for Russians. In remote regions of Russia, people have started holding various flash mobs: teachers lined up children in kindergarten with the letter "Z" and painted these letters on cars and T-shirts. In Yakutia, they lined up deer in the shape of the letter "Z".
People have also started replacing the Cyrillic letters "C" and "B" with Latin letters ["Z" and "V"] on the information signs at the entrance to settlements.
Initially, it was suggested that the letters "Z" and "V" were used to identify military districts.
However, the real tactical significance of this marking on military equipment is still unknown. Probably Russians themselves do not understand the meaning of these letters, but keep on drawing them everywhere - even on Easter bread.
At the same time, many companies that used the Latin "Z" and "V" in their logos before Russia's attack on Ukraine began to abandon them in order not to be associated with the Russian occupiers in any way.
