DENYS KARLOVSKYI — THURSDAY, 31 MARCH 2022, 18:47

The command of the National Guard regiment "Azov" has called on the military-political leadership of Ukraine to conduct the operation to "de-blockade" Mariupol.

Source: An address by Sviatoslav Palamar, the Deputy Commander of the Azov Regiment

Quote by Palamar: "Every day of defending the city costs lives of our heroes.

Our goal is to survive and win this war! We are confident that the operation to ‘de-blockade’ Mariupol will go down in history as a heroic act of bravery of our people. But if it doesn't happen, it will be in history as a great disgrace. "

Details: The deputy commander of the regiment said that about 100 thousand Mariupol residents were blockaded by the Russian occupying forces. According to Palamar, if the city is captured by Russian troops, drunk occupants under the influence of euphoria and impunity will commit a terrible number of crimes against civilians.

He said that the defenders of Mariupol, even if wounded, still fight, because there is no other way.

Background:

  • Commanders of Russian militants of the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People’s Republic" declare the founding of an organisation, so-called "Mariupol administration".
  • On March 30, "Azov" reported the total destruction of Russian special forces units in the battles over Mariupol. In addition, the National Guard regiment reported that the Russian occupants were deliberately bombing a building marked with a "red cross" on the roof.
  • On March 29, Palamar said that Ukrainian defenders would not leave the city and would fight to the end.

Ukrainian defenders also showed how Russian "elite" units of so-called "Kadyrovtsy" (Kadyrov’s private army) are allegedly fighting windows and traffic lights in Mariupol.
