Quote from Linda Thomas-Greenfield: "We will announce additional security aid for Ukraine in the coming days.’

Details: Linda Thomas-Greenfield also called on other countries to support the Peace Formula promoted by the Ukrainian side.

The United States Ambassador to the UN says Ukrainians should get the security they deserve.

She stressed that peace in Ukraine must be just and sustainable and fully respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

And Russia needs to be held responsible for its crimes and violations of the UN Charter.

The US Ambassador called on China to "stop supporting war on the European continent" and to assist Russia's military efforts.

Quote from Linda Thomas-Greenfield: "And let me be clear, when this war is over, a sovereign, independent, democratic Ukraine will be in control of its internationally recognised territory and will continue on its path to join Euro-Atlantic institutions like NATO."

Background:

  • Media reported that US President Joe Biden had for the first time authorised Ukrainian forces to use long-range ATACMS missiles to strike Russian territory.
  • Axios noted that this decision concerns Russia’s Kursk Oblast and is intended as a response to the involvement of North Korean military personnel in the war.
