Russian troops record fake videos about allegedly giving aid to Kharkiv region residents
Denys Karlovsky – Friday, 18 March 2022, 13:14
Russian occupying forces are pretending to deliver humanitarian aid to Ukrainian citizens on the temporarily occupied territories of the Kharkiv region for propaganda reasons.
Source: Oleh Synehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, on Telegram
According to Synehubov: "In some of the temporarily occupied territories, Russian occupiers are trying to create a positive image of themselves, for example by distributing food on camera, and so on.
In Lyptsi, Russian propagandists made a video of an unidentified gym – a building that does not even exist in this town. This is montage and an open provocation. The occupiers are creating a deceitful "image," filming people who are posing as residents of this community and allegedly welcoming the "Russian liberators."
Details: Synehubov noted that Russian occupiers have initiated an active disinformation campaign among the local residents and are disseminating fake information.
The head of the military administration urged residents only to believe information from official government communication channels.
Background: On the morning of 18 March Synehubov said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to halt the advance of the Russian occupation forces’ 437th Training Regiment and 26th Tank Regiments. He added that the situation in the towns and villages in the north of the region remains difficult.
