Russian troops launched an air strike on a military unit in the Boryspil district of Kyiv region; people were injured.

On 8 March, three missiles flew at Boryspil in the Kyiv region, two of which were destroyed by Ukrainian air defence forces.

Russian troops opened fire at a bus carrying evacuees from Makariv near Kyiv.

Former mayor of Irpin, local developer Volodymyr Karplyuk, spoke about the horrors committed by the aggressors in Vorzel, Bucha, Gostomel, Zabuchia and Mykhailivka-Rubezhivka. In these towns there are mostly no communications with the outside world, food and water have run out and there is no electricity and heating.

Russian troops are not allowing the residents of occupied Bucha, a mostly residential town to the northwest of Kyiv, to leave their houses; they are shooting on Bucha’s streets.

The attempt to organise a humanitarian corridor out of Russian-occupied Irpin, Bucha, and Hostomel has resulted in the evacuation of some 2,000 people, but more than 4,000 still need to be evacuated from the outskirts of the capital.

In Makariv, a town in the Kyiv region, a Russian airstrike at a bread factory has killed 13 people.

The Russian invading forces have killed the Mayor of Hostomil Yuriy Prylypko and wounded the Mayor of Bucha Anatoly Fedoruk.

Five people have been killed and one wounded as Russian troops opened fire at a Russian checkpoint in the Fastiv area (Kyiv region).

Russian troops are deliberately firing 120mm mortars on a bridge in Irpin where civilians are trying to flee the city.
