Russia attacks Ukraine with 60 drones: Ukrainian air defences destroy almost all of them

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 60 drones over the past 24 hours. Ukrainian air defence units have shot down 36 UAVs, while 23 decoy drones have disappeared from radar due to electronic warfare countermeasures.

Details: The Air Force reported that between 10:00 on 23 December and 09:00 on 24 December, Russia had launched 60 Shahed loitering munitions and other drones from Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Russian Federation.

As of 10:00 on 24 December, 36 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.

A further 23 Russian decoy drones disappeared from radar due to active countermeasures by the defence forces (without any adverse effects).

One UAV is still in the air.

The aerial attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's Air Force and defence forces.
