Ukraine secures US$1.1 billion for critical budget expenditures, PM says

Ukraine has received US$1.1 billion from the International Monetary Fund.

This marks the sixth tranche under the joint Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme, he said.  

Quote: "The funds have already been credited to Ukraine's accounts and will be used to cover critical budget expenditures," Shmyhal noted.  

He also highlighted that Ukraine has so far received US$9.8 billion from the IMF as part of this programme.

Background: On 21 December, the IMF Executive Board completed the sixth review of the EFF program for Ukraine and approved a new tranche of US$1.1 billion.
