Details: The official reiterated that the situation with clothing and food has much improved, and the procurement of items for the troops for the summer season of 2025 has begun.

The source explained that the controversies involving low-quality products like stews and chicken meat exposed flaws in the procurement system, allowing the processes to be corrected.

Zhumadilov also remarked on the issue involving the Ministry of Defence's corruption allegations. According to him, a piece titled "Umierov’s Ministry of Sabotage", written by journalists of Dzerkalo Tyzhnia, sparked xenophobic speculation around Crimean Tatars.

"I respect freedom of speech and the right to any statements, but the authors should have focused on objective criticism of the problems of the Ministry of Defence," the official said.

Background:

  • Last week, the article titled "Umierov’s Ministry of Sabotage" sparked widespread outrage. The main goal was to demonstrate Ukrainian Ministry of Defence's inability to function normally, owing to the fact that it is led by Rustem Umierov and his business associates. These are Lenur Mambetov and Snaver Seithalilev, who have been assigned to unsuitable posts as freelance advisers to the State Secretary of the Defence Ministry on a voluntary basis. This also includes Deputy Minister Dmytro Klimenkov, to whom Umierov entrusted the largest monetary flows within the ministry.
  • Subsequently, Nashi Hroshi reported that Ukraine's Ministry of Defence, directed by Rustem Umierov, is run by a group of persons who are business associates.
