Andrius Kubilius, the new EU Commissioner for Defence, visited Kyiv and met with Ukraineʼs Defence Minister Rustem Umierov.

Details: The commissioner reported that during the meeting, they discussed security issues and the potential of the defence industry.

Quote from Andrius Kubilius: "EU military support is now at €45.5 billion and rising. Deeper EU-Ukraine defence cooperation will strengthen our collective resilience."

More details: It should be noted that the post of EU Commissioner for Defence in the new European Commission, launched on 1 December, was created for the first time in view of the deteriorating security situation worldwide and an increasingly aggressive Russia.
