Ukraine fires ATACMS missiles at Russian airfield for first time – media

OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) analysts have found that Ukraine has, for the first time, fired US-made ATACMS ballistic missiles with cluster warheads at a military airfield in Russia’s Kursk Oblast.

Details: According to analysts, on the night of 24-25 November, Ukrainian missile forces struck the Russian tactical aviation airfield Kursk-Vostochny with ATACMS missiles.

The project showed photos of the detonation of submunitions, which are parts of two M39 missiles with cluster warheads, on the territory of the airfield.

The identified geolocation shows that the missiles attacked a parking lot of aircraft, including combat aircraft. It is currently unknown whether they were there at the time of the strike.

One of Russia's military bloggers, who has ties with the Air Force, also confirmed the ballistic missile strike. He claims that Ukraine has launched eight missiles, and the Russians performed combat efforts against seven. However, this term only means an attempt to intercept, not shoot down.
