Google bans verification of accounts using Russian phone numbers

It is no longer possible to verify a new Google account using a Russian mobile number.

Details: It is noted that the system enables users to complete all the steps for creating a new account: selecting a name, gender, and date of birth, as well as choosing an email address and password.

However, it is not possible to confirm the mail address with a Russian mobile number, as "this number cannot be used for confirmation".

Background: Contactless payment services that emerged in the Russian Federation following the exit of Apple Pay and Google Pay from the market have not gained widespread popularity among Russians.
