Quote: "The Rada supported the dismissal of Oleksandr Kamyshin from the post of Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine," he said.

The decision was voted for by 243 MPs. Zhelezniak said Kamyshin had reported on the work he had done.

Background:

  • The Verkhovna Rada did not collect enough votes to dismiss Vitalii Koval as head of the State Property Fund.
  • In addition, not enough members of the Rada voted to allow Koval to report on his work in office before his dismissal.
  • The Economic Development Committee had recommended that the Verkhovna Rada dismiss Koval from his post.
  • The Committee also recommended that the Rada dismiss Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
  • Both officials had submitted resignation letters to the Parliament the day before.
