Traffic collision in Poland: four Ukrainian children in critical condition

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry has provided details of a minibus traffic collision involving Ukrainian citizens in western Poland and noted that the Ukrainian consul in Wrocław is on his way to the scene.

Details: The accident occurred near the Polish town of Świecko in Lubusz Voivodeship at around 04:00 on Saturday, 20 July.

All nine people in the minibus that collided with the vehicle are Ukrainian citizens who have been taken to the hospital.

"The condition of five Ukrainian citizens is assessed as critical. Among them are four children aged 2, 3, 4 and 15. The Consul of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Wroclaw is heading to the scene of the accident. He will provide consular support, visit the medical facilities where the affected Ukrainians are being treated, and find out the circumstances of the accident," the Foreign Ministry said.

Background: On the morning of 20 July, Polish media reported that a minibus carrying Ukrainian citizens collided with a road maintenance vehicle on the A2 road between the Polish city of Wrocław and Frankfurt, Germany. The accident was initially reported to have occurred near the city of Świebodzin, 60 km from the German border.
