Zelenskyy: Russians targeted playground in Mykolaiv, we need new measures to support our defence – photos

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reacted to the Russian air strike on Mykolaiv on the evening of 19 July, stating that fresh measures were required to bolster Ukrainian air defence.

Quote: "A Russian missile strike on Mykolaiv hit a children’s playground near an ordinary residential house. Currently, five people are reported injured, and three people were killed, including a child. My deepest condolences to the families and friends who have lost their loved ones."

Details: According to Zelenskyy, Russia's daily terror demonstrates that there is not enough pressure on Russia, and that such destruction of life must stop.

"We need new measures to support our defence. Russia must feel the power of the world," he said.

Background: On the evening 19 July, Russian forces launched an airstrike on a residential area in the city of Mykolaiv, claiming the lives of three civilians.
