We understand that Ukraine will have to talk to Russia – Ukraine's Foreign Minister
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said Ukraine will have to engage in a dialogue with Russia, but not in the language of ultimatums issued by the Kremlin.

Quote from Kuleba: "We also understand well that there will come a time when we will need to talk to Russia. But our position is obvious: we will not allow Russia to speak the language of ultimatums, as it does now."
Details: Kuleba noted that Putin's latest ultimatum "did not cause any interest at the summit because everyone understands that this was done with one simple goal – to create a kind of PR wave on the eve of the summit."
The foreign minister also said that work on the joint declaration at the Peace Summit has been completed. It will be open to accession by other states in the future.
Kuleba assured that the text is balanced and that Ukraine’s principles have been considered.
Background:
- Earlier, Putin repeated that he was allegedly "ready for peace talks", but for this, Ukraine must withdraw its troops from all the oblasts occupied by the Russians that the Kremlin considers the territory of the Russian Federation.
- Mykhailo Podoliak, the adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, called the "peace proposals" of the Kremlin leader, which he voiced on 14 June, "a standard aggressor's set".
- President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the "proposals" an ultimatum of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin to end the war on his terms.
