Details: The prisoners, who are being held on "terrorist" charges, are reportedly armed with "fire axes and rubber batons".

Baza reported that six detainees broke the window bars in their cell in the pre-trial detention centre and entered the duty station.

Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr B., the head of the operational department, and a junior inspector of the duty unit are being held hostage.

Early reports indicate that the prisoners are demanding a car, weapons and the opportunity to leave the facility.

They also recorded several videos in which they claimed to be members of the ISIS terrorist organisation.

Riot police are now on the way to the Rostov pre-trial detention centre.
