A total of 11 drones were shot down in Odesa Oblast on the night of 16-17 January as they approached the coast, and most of them crashed into the sea. The kamikaze drones were approaching from the Black Sea at a critically low altitude.

Details: The military said the Russians attacked the southern oblasts with Shahed-131/136 attack drones at night. Air defence units have been working for almost 3 hours.
Debris from several downed drones and the blast wave damaged apartment buildings, shops, and private cars in the Prymorskyi district of Odesa.
Background:
- On the night of 16-17 January, a series of explosions rang out in Odesa. A residential building was damaged by a terrorist attack by Russian forces with attack drones. A fire was reported.
- A total of 130 people were evacuated from the damaged building. Three residents were injured.
