Russians strike Danube port infrastructure, killing lorry driver

Russian troops hit Odesa Oblast with attack drones, targeting port infrastructure in the Danube region, damaging a warehouse, a grain elevator and some lorries, and killing one of the drivers, on the night of 6-7 December.

Quote: "Last night, Russian terrorists were attacking the Izmail district with attack drones for almost two hours. Our air defence forces downed most of the Shahed drones, but, unfortunately, strikes occurred.

The occupiers specifically attacked port infrastructure in the Danube region. A warehouse, a grain elevator and some lorries were damaged. The driver of one of the lorries died. A fire broke out at the scene, quickly extinguished by firefighters from the State Emergency Service." 

Details: The Defence Forces of the South of Ukraine reported that by launching drones on the port infrastructure of the Danube region, the Russians were once again using the specific characteristics of the landscape and the proximity of the state border.

The Ukrainian air defence forces have destroyed 11 Shahed-131/136 drones but the port infrastructure has been struck. 

A 56-year-old lorry driver died as a result of the attack, Odesa Oblast Prosecutor's Office reported.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the violation of the laws and customs of war (Article 438.2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Izmail District Prosecutor's Office.
