Details: The Special Committee for Ukrainian Children’s Affaires in PACE is chaired by Ukrainian delegate Olena Khomenko. Other members are Kravchuk herself, Mariia Mezentseva, Pavlo Sushko, Larysa Bilozir and Oleksandra Ustinova.
Quote: "We will concentrate on the issues of the violation of children’s rights by the Russian occupiers, as well as on the issue of the kidnapping and deportation of Ukrainian children. I am hoping for a fruitful cooperation and a practical result."
Background: In April the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe recognized the deportation and force displacement of Ukrainian children to the territory of the Russian Federation as a genocide.
PACE also urged the International Criminal Court to issue an arrest warrant for Alexander Lukashenko, self-proclaimed President of Belarus, for the deportation of Ukrainian children.
